Legend of immunology Shimon Sakaguchi in Prague
It was a great honour for us to welcome Prof. Sakaguchi in Prague. In addition to lectures and discussions with academics, he also took time for an interview with Czech Television. Prof. Sakaguchi accepted an invitation from Dr. Martin Zach from the Institute of Philosophy of the Czech Academy of Sciences, who organized his visit in cooperation with Dominik Filipp from the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Czech Academy of Sciences. Prof. Sakaguchi also co-authored a book with Dominik Filip: Basic Immunology and Its Clinical Application.
In an interview for Czech Television, Prof. Sakaguchi, among other things, outlined how regulatory T-cells could help in the treatment of allergies or cancer in the future. Watch the exclusive interview on Věda 24 to find out more about his research. (in Czech)

The launch includes an introduction by Dr. Zach, followed by Dr. Filipp, who will ceremoniously present the “The Garnet Immunoglobulin” , the highest award granted by the Czech Immunological Society.
