Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Czech Academy of Sciences
Students are a vital part of IMG. We have spaces for relaxation, entertainment and education. You can use our gym and squash court. Right on the Academy of Sciences campus, you will also find a volleyball court.
The main event organised by PhD students is the PhD conference. It is usually held at the beginning of the academic year and its main focus is on lectures by PhD students and international guests.
The weekend bootcamp for first year students is usually held in the second half of October. The aim of the event is to allow new PhD students at IMG to get to know each other and get familiar with the organization of working life at our institute.
In addition to several lectures by IMG staff, the weekend includes a varied program: socialization games, trips around the area (in recent years we have been going to the Muhu chalet in the Jizera Mountains) and other activities.
During the academic year we organize regular gatherings such as Happy Hours, BBQs and presentations of our students’ national cuisines, table football tournaments and other sports activities or green swaps.
The capital city of Prague offers a wide range of cultural events and sports activities.
