Gastrointestinal autoimmunity associated with loss of central tolerance to enteric α-defensins
We have shown that the physiological role of enteric α-defensin production in the thymus is critical for maintenaning central tolerance in the small intestine. [pubmed] [doi]
Toll-like receptor 2 expression on c-kit+ cells tracks the emergence of embryonic definitive hematopoietic progenitors
We have found that the precursors of embryonic hematopoietic cells express Toll-like receptors (TLRs). Using TLR2 as a prototypic TLRs, we have mapped spatiotemporal parameters of the emergence of definitive hematopoietic progenitors. [pubmed] [doi]
Toll-like receptor signalling in thymus controls monocyte-derived dendritic cell recruitment and Treg generation
We have provided a mechanistic insight into the regulation of central tolerance via TLR signalling in mTECs. TLRs regulate the chemotactic recruitment of monocyte-derived CD14+ dendritic cells to the thymic medulla, the cellular composition of which predicates the developmental output of Treg cells.
