DNA Day

  • Date & Time: 26. 4. 2025  |  13:00 - 19:00
  • Location: Faust House, Karlovo nám. 502/40, Prague

World DNA Day (April 25) commemorates the successful completion of the Human Genome Project in 2003 and the discovery of the DNA double helix by James Watson and Francis Crick in 1953. We plan to introduce the public to both basic knowledge and the latest advances in genome and DNA research through popularization lectures and various activities.

Celebrate with us the DNA Day!

Together with the National Institute for Cancer Research, we would like to invite you to celebrations of the DNA Day.

The program will include lectures by colleagues from the NICR consortium and the Institute of Molecular Genetics. There will also be educational activities for children, including a Detective Game on Forensic Genetics and an exhibition on the history and research of DNA.

We would like to invite you and your children to participate in the art competition “Children Draw DNA” and the creative competition “What Will the Evil N’adoor Do Next?”. More details in the attached leaflets or on the NICR website (in Czech only).
